About Our Founder
Catherine B. Werner, CSP, CHMM, MBA, is a nationally recognized leader in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) and sustainability. With more than 25 years of experience, Catherine has built a career helping organizations create safer workplaces, reduce environmental impact, and unlock business value through compliance and innovation.
As former Global EHS & Sustainability Leader at GE Appliances, Catherine led programs that reduced injury rates by more than 35% and cut lost-time incidents by 60%, while saving over $5 million in workers’ compensation costs. She has been recognized with the STEP Ahead Award by The Manufacturing Institute (2019) and was named a Fellow of the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management (2009), one of the highest honors in her profession.
Catherine is deeply committed to advancing the next generation of leaders. She served as Treasurer of the National Board of Women in Manufacturing (WiM) and was a founding board member of the WiM Educational Foundation. She secured a $100K grant to sponsor and mentor professional women through well-recognized leadership programs and continues to mentor young professionals in the EHS and sustainability community.
Through ESG-EHS Services (EES), Catherine partners with clients in manufacturing, healthcare, and education to deliver practical, measurable solutions. Her focus includes leadership strategy and scenario-based training, EHS staffing and management system assessment and development, integrated EHS and LEAN process improvements, indoor air quality assessments, risk identification and management, and ESG integration. She and her team help organizations achieve regulatory compliance and advance sustainability and resilience goals, while unlocking hidden EBITDA.
